The Association of Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (AVCNU)
through its Secretary-General, Prof. Michael Faborode, has denied
reports credited to the association that the Federal Ministry of
Education and other stakeholders in the tertiary education sub-sector
have agreed on N2,500 as fee for post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation
Examination (post-UTME) screening.
According to him, it is not the duty of the association to make such pronouncement but that of the Ministry of Education.
He further stated that the whole story exhibits poor reportage, contains
half-truth and conjectures, and represents very poor translation of the
proper content of a written information as there was no way it was
stated in the statement released by the association that Post-UTME is
now N2,500 or that CBT has been scrapped.
